Taipei 101
The Taipei 101 is a landmark building in Taipei City, with the first five floors occupied by high-end boutique stores, while the higher levels are primarily offices. The Taipei 101 mall is primarily dominated by well-known international brands such as Gucci, LOUIS VUITTON, Prada, Burberry and fashion houses. While flagship store for electronic brands such as Apple and Sony is also here.
Din Tai Fung, Jason’s market place and other Taiwanese local delicacies can be found on the B1 level, while there are coffee shops and the observatory ticketing booth is on the fifth floor. The Italian restaurant on the 85th floor allows diners to enjoy a magnificent meal and view at the same time, and is a location commonly used by couples proposing marriage.
The Taipei 101 observatory on the 89th floor provides a bird’s eye view of the entire Taipei City, and is also a favorite spot for avid photographers. One floor down on the 88th floor, you can also see the giant damper that was featured by the Discovery channel as a world-class architectural technology, which is open to the public.
The annual Taipei 101 Run Up event has also attracted interest from various sectors to participate in the related charity activities. The annual New Year’s Eve fireworks and light show at the building makes the New Year countdown in Taipei even more festival and special.
