The Shilin night market is a place filled with good food, fun and easy to walk around. The main night market route extends from MRT Jiantan Station to Yangming movie theater. The branching lanes and alleys are also filled with various stores.

Traditional and innovative Taiwan food, sport goods, clothing, electronic products to grocery can all be found here. Well known local food includes ZhongChengHao oyster omlette’s stirred fried calamari, Hot Star fried chicken, A-Liang vermicelli, little bun wrapped in big bun, Three brothers beancurd pudding, jelly tapioca pearl, as well as netizens’ recommendations like teh tarik, cold noodles, scallion pancake, sausage with sticky rice, shaved ice.

You can also have fun with the night market game stalls in between enjoying the good food. With the decreasing age in visitors in recent years, a lot of sporting brands have also opened up shops in the area. Keep in mind that MRT Jiantan station is actually closer to the night market, so don’t disembark at MRT Shilin Station!
