East district commercial circle

The East district commercial circle is situated around sec. 4 of Zhongxiao East Road, with Pacific SOGO, Breeze Center, Ming Yao department stores at its center and expands outwards covering three MRT stations (Zhongxiao-Fuxing, Zhongxiao-Dunhua and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall station).

The shops in the East district commercial circle tend to be those of contemporary street culture and the new generation fashion and trend cultures. Each store, whether brand flagship stores or boutique stores are filled with their own features. The lanes and alleys that branches off section 4 of Zhongxiao East Road are known are the back streets of the East district, and is a treasure trove for those seeking the latest fashions and trends in Taipei.

Due to this atmosphere, many Taiwanese celebrities chose to set up shops here, including the band Mayday’s StayReal, singer JJ Lin’s SMG, Gigi’s MERCI, and A-mei’s A8cafe.

Aside from great shopping, there are countless restaurants in the area. If it’s too hot, enjoy some tapioca balls or Ice Monster’s mango shaved ice, or take a break in one of the pearl milk tea shops on ‘tea’ street. The lounge bars, Japanese Izakaya, Korea BBQ or karaoke in the area are typically open to the early morning or does not close at all, so if you are not feeling sleepy at all, you can definitely find something to do in the East district!
