Taipei Zoo

Taipei Zoo is the largest zoo with the most animal species in Taiwan. The zoo is divided into 13 areas, holding not Formosan black bears and Formosan clouded leopards that are unique to Taiwan, but also popular animals like koala bears, penguins and pandas.

The best feature of the Taipei City zoo is using the existing geography of the area that matches best with the original habitat of the animal on display so as provide them with the best environment. This let the animals spend less time in cages, with open space to move in, and also let visitors better understand animals, thus meeting the zoo’s education purpose.

In addition to the animals, there is also a picnic area, outdoor fauna and flora observation area, youth physical training course which allows visitors to walk around and exercise while looking at the animals. The guides in the zoo are highly experienced, providing humorous and interesting anecdotes about the inner workings of the zoo, and are bound to leave you with a good impression of the zoo.
